How Easy Is Easy?

Easy is a good word when it is referred to exam papers. However, it is not a good news when it is used as an adjective to describe the level of ‘hardness’ when it comes to getting chicks in Malaysia.

I managed to have quite a lengthy conversation with my new friend who is an expat. Italian to be exact. Being a damn curious cat I already am, I immediately shoot him with the question that has been playing in my mind for quite a long time.

“Do you think it’s easy to get girls over here? Ya know, to get laid and such.”

Ha kau! Hamek! Soalan direct lagi maut!

Friend : I can tell you that here, it is very easy to get a girl …

Friend: I mean …if a foreigner like me went around clubbing, I can get a girl without any problem …

I can’t argue more. He has confirmed my assumption.

C’mon, Asian girls, in general fall for foreign lads for various reasons. One of which could be due to the fact that they are not shy to show their affection in a proper manner.

I spoke to a friend who used to spend more than 3 years abroad on this matter and yes, she mentioned a few points in which I, in the end nodded vigorously in full agreement (kalau nod tu memang la dah agree kan…).

“There are a few things that Malay men lack of that these Mat Salleh can offer… For instance, they show their affection in a genuine way. And they do pay attention to small details like anniversaries, Valentine’s, birthdays and such. Malay men kadang-kadang rasa benda ni tak perlu buat…”

Tell me about it…. *roll eyes*

I used to be in a few relationships and I was never presented with such ‘gifts’.

I wonder why…

Oh my!

Somebody please give me a nice slap as I realized that I am so very out of topic!

Back to the issue aforementioned, yes, I tend to agree with him on that. Us Malaysian women can get easily ‘bespelled’ by them non-Malaysian, to be exact, the Mat Salleh because they can offer more than what you guys can.

And and I am not going to deny the fact that they score points when it comes to bedroom issues too.

Something I remembered from Gubra (though it’s not exactly the words they uttered) …

“Eee, dia tak sunat. Anu dia ada cheese!”

“Ada cheese la bagus. Cheese sedap…”

It’s gross, I know but if you watch the whole scene, she does have a ‘between the lines’ point.

Now tell me, do you want us to be ’snatched’ by them Mat Salleh?

If not, please do something about it, especially to the Malay men.

Sebab, kamu kamu, kalau romantic, kadang-kadang menggelikan! Macam buat-buat!

Ewwwwwww!

Interview & Interrogation

Both actions involve obtaning answers from another party, only that the former is done in a more ‘delicate’ way compared to the latter.

I just hung up from a phone interview. Before I proceed further, let me tell you how much I LOVE interviewing people. I’ve interrogated a few candicates back then when I was working with my former employer and now, being in the Admin Department, it adds to my ‘Things I Enjoy Doing At Work’ list.

We’re currently looking for a new staff, specifically a receptionist-cum-customer service assistant… or that’s how I want to call it. This morning, The Boss handed me a resume of a candidate who initially applied for the position as a Graphic Designer. Since we need someone who is senior, the HQ decided that we, the Marketing Division might want to take a look at her resume (she’s a junior and just a certificate holder. The HQ needs more than that), thinking that maybe, just maybe we can absorb her into the position we’re offering.

So just now, I gave her a ring and by hearing her ‘Hello’ I think I interrupted her from her afternoon slumber.

This is the start of a phone interview conducted by your beloved Admin fella, Kay…

On of the criterion we’re looking for is the ability to converse well in English…

“Just for your information, one of the requirements to work here is that you need to be fluent in English. On a scale from 1 to 5, where do you see yourself at?”

“Erm, 3.”

I give her 1.99.

For verbal skill that is.

Looking at the practicality aspect, I’m allowing myself to fulfill my objective while I’m wearing jeans, in between waiting for replies from Y!M and sipping the good ol’ pal of mine : coffee.

And on the candidate side, I allow his/her to answer my questions even when s/he’s wearing pyjamas.

After all, only a phone convo is needed for me to conduct my assessment (Please refer to the job requirement).

Throughout the convo, I tried to get her to utter sentences with word counts more than 10 but in the end, it turned out to be that I’m the one who’s interviewing myself.

With the oh-so-serious-and-scary intonation, I also think she wet her pants during the interview.

I love scaring people during interview. Hehehe. Well, I have the rights to, don’t I? If you don’t have the balls, you might as well work on your own, where you only need to answer to your own self.

Betul tak?

My gut feelings never fail me when it comes to getting new people onboard.

And my gut feelings have decided that her resume is going to be at the recycled paper compartment.

Call me wicked but when it comes to getting the right people to join the team, I can be as particular as Kimora. Attending to crybabies is the last thing on earth that I want to do.

Don’t tell me I never give you interview tips!

I’m generally fine.

Will be at PWTC till Thrusday, enjoying the crowd of Spa people (yeah rite, ‘enjoying’….).

Thanks for the toast I had this morning (3 sets) or otherwise, I’d faint while explaining the benefit of Jojoba oil to customer.

The flu seemed to behave well. No sneezing or whatsoever.

Good girl.

Will be ‘tak menang tangan’ again tomorrow.

Have a nice week ahead because I think I will. :)

I woke up at the wrong side of the bed again.

Perhaps, all I need is a good, quality sleep.

Oh!

And I think I want to marry a ‘mat salleh’.

The kinky curls of my hair are not the result from a bad perming case.

They are natural.
